Jonas Armstrong was born in Ireland, but was bought up in Lancashire, in England. He has a younger brother who is also an actor and a younger sister. He did his schooling from Arnold School. He graduated from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2003. While at college, he acted in shows such as Twelfth Night, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Crucible and Ulysses. He also appeared in other shows such as Quartermaine’s Terms and The Skin of Our Teeth. In 2004, he appeared in the British comedy series Teachers on television. However, Robin Hood was the first main role that he played on television.

In Robin Hood, he plays the title role of the legendary hero who moves from being an Earl to being an outlaw to safeguard the people from the unjust and corrupt governance of the evil Sheriff.

September 23rd, 2009 at 12:16 pmI hate to see this tv series end, I have really enjoyed watching this series, its characters and plots and would’ve hoped to see it continue. It wasn’t advertised enough in the states to know much about it, I accidentally found it in the middle of the first season.
