Yes, he was raised at Melton. His education also took place there at The Grove Primary School, King Edward Upper VII School and Brooksby Melton College.

Well, the god news is that this year’s Christmas might just turn a bit nostalgic for the actor, who has been invited to kick-off the festivities, by lighting the Christmas lights at Melton.

On December 25 this year, we will be able to watch the actor lighting up the town, that would, perhaps, be followed by fireworks and shopping till late into the night.

Standen is touched and honored with this privilege from his hometown that loves him the way he was till college, and continues to love him for whatever he is today.

He admits to have received the invitation from the Melton Council, and expressed his pleasure at being awarded this chance to spend some valuable time in that super-friendly town that holds a special position in his life.

Clive, who, at present, resides with his wife and three little children in London, made a trip to Melton in order to meet his family and found negligible change in the way things once were in that small town.

His parents, Judy and Steve Standen still reside in Melton, along with his younger brother Tom.

The actor, who has just completed the hectic shoot schedules of Camelot in Dublin and Channel 5’s Forbidden Love, is opting for a break now, before he hits auditions for American pilot shows in the first month of the New Year.

I guess Clive really needs a bit of rest and some quality time off-screen, and more than that Meltonians need their hero for his touch of showbiz to their Christmas celebrations.

We all grew up watching Robin Hood and reading stories about his adventures, which makes this character one of the most iconic fictional characters of all time. No wonder, when BBC announced that it was going to produce a remake of the age-old tale, the buzz was palpable all across the entertainment world!

Even though the selection of a little-known British actor, Jonas Armstrong, in the lead role of Robin Hood came as a bit of an anti-climax, yet the story soon gained pace, and ended up being just what we had hoped it to be!

As the series drew to an end after a phenomenal three seasons of sheer brilliance, we realized that we might never be able to see such a terrific portrayal of this captivating tale ever again!

The infamous incident involved the theft of master tapes of the show, which at the time was all set to air. It is believed that the tapes were stolen by an extra working on the show. The incident created a ruckus in the entertainment world, as people wondered what would happen next- would BBC offer a ransom of millions for the tapes to be returned, would they re-tape the lost chunks, or worst of all, would the show be shelved before it premiered?

The fact that the show was about Robin Hood, a thief who took pride in robbing the rich to feed the poor, made the situation ironical, nearly to the point of hilarity.

While some dismissed the move as a publicity stunt, BBC maintained that the theft had indeed occurred, and finally settled to re-tape the parts that had been stolen. Despite this rocky start, the show ended up being a massive success, which despite going off air three seasons later, still has a dedicated fan base!

Every little boy dreams of being a Robin Hood-esque hero, who commits the most thrilling crimes with a good intention.

Jonas Armstrong was no exception, and when he got a call to audition for the lead role of Robin Hood, his excitement knew no bounds!

However, the one concern on his mind was, whether he would be able to live up to the expectations of portraying this superhero, and whether the audiences would accept an unaccomplished actor in the massive BBC project.

Quite natural, I would say!

It all turned out to be even better than he could hope for, and now, as he looks back at his journey on the show, he gushes about how memorable each moment has been.

What Jonas loved the best was shooting the scenes that involved horse-riding.

He delightfully announced that he was the only one who was allowed to perform those scenes, without the assistance of a body double.

You can watch Robin Hood online to re-live those particular scenes, in which Jonas looked every bit the superhero, with a shining armor.

However, the actor was not allowed to do all that he wished to on the show’s sets.

For instance, he is still remorseful about not having been allowed to perform the simple stunts like those that involved walking across a beam, which was “only 8 feet tall”!

He is quick to explain that that was probably due to the insurance reasons.

The unique part about Jonas’ character was that, along with the standard bows and arrows, without which any Robin Hood story would be incomplete, he also got to fight with a Saracen sword.

That’s where his sword-fighting expertise came in handy, making him perfect for the part.

Though a long time had passed since they had met, the good friend remembered Lara and came in touch, when she landed a role in a television series.

The good friend, I am talking about here, is Richard Armitage.

Recently, Lara reflected that she received a funny email from Richard on the very first day she started filming for the series. You must be familiar with the fact that the duo was together in the television series, Robin Hood.

Their friendship bloomed on the sets of the same television show.

And if you can make something out of it, help yourself: Lara has joined the cast of same show that Richard had left a while earlier. Watch out!

And this twist gave way to the hilarious angle in the mail.

Lara went ahead and revealed what Richard stated in her short but hilarious mail. His words reflected that the show bosses got rid of him to make space for Lara!

Well Richard, that was pretty funny.

Well Lara, I recently made the Robin Hood download, and when I came to know that Richard was also associated with the show (the one you have joined), I felt extremely awful.

I felt awful because I would have loved to see you two in action together in another series after Robin Hood, but it seems that it is not going to happen.

However, he landed a role recently and the same confused many.

After getting the role, he became ‘closer to the moon’ as well in ‘Closer To The Moon’.

Now, don’t feel bad for yourself, if you have not been able to understand the meaning of the above mentioned sentence.

Harry, recently, landed a role in a movie named Closer To The Moon and the same gave birth to the awkward sentence!

Harry, who also portrayed a prominent character in the Robin Hood episodes, will be working for Nae Caranfil (director) this time around.

The story of the film revolves around a Jewish group, which plans to steal money from a bank, in the Nazi era. However, they are not able to pull off the gig!

Their plan will be hatched by the officials and they will become a part of a propaganda cinema work.

It is being stated that he would be playing a cameraman, but, much to the dismay of Harry’s fans, no more insights are available about his role, as of now.

I am sure that he would make his presence count in the project, no matter how small his role is.

Well, I think Harry would soon be ‘on the moon’ instead of ‘near the moon’, especially if he kept on reprising such wonderful roles.

Here I am with all the news for you! So what is Lara Pulver, the actress from Robin Hood doing these days? Well guys, fret not if you have not been able to keep track. I am going to give you all that you need to know about this one.

The lady has landed a very plum role for herself. Now isn’t that great news? She is going to be seen in the famous series ‘Sherlock’, based on the hugely successful works of fiction, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. So, all you folks who enjoy thrillers and adventures, those who swear by Sir Arthur, this one promises to be a real treat.

As for Lara’s role in the series, she could not have asked for anything better. She has been roped in to play the character of Irene Adler, the romantic interest of Sherlock Homes.

The character might have appeared in only ‘A Scandal in Bohemia’, a short story by Sir Arthur, it has found mention in several other stories. To play the love interest of Sherlock Holmes is quite an interesting thought in itself, right guys? I guess, Lara would be thrilled with the offer and she has every reason to be!

Lara Pulver’s character would be introduced in ‘A Scandal in Belgravia’, the premiere episode of the second season. Let’s wish Lara another successful and entertaining series like Robin Hood.

Sam Troughton recently got a taste of the fact, when he suffered a knee injury, during his on-stage performance.

It was reported that while performing an act for the Royal Shakespeare Company on July 12th, the charming actor collapsed on the stage, as his knee buckled during the act.

The on-stage performance came to a halt and he was rushed for medical attention.

The actor caught the attention of the masses with his performances as Much in the television series, Robin Hood. He portrayed the role of Robin’s best friend.

It later came to light that the actor had arthroscopic knee surgery and is currently bed-ridden.

Nada Zakula, who represented the company, stated that the actor would not be attending his scheduled performances, as the doctor has suggested strict bed-rest.

The Robin Hood actor, after going through the medical procedure, reflected that he had a great run in front of American audiences and is quite sad about his injury. The actor went ahead and gave his best wishes to the actor who replaced him for the remaining performances.

The Robin Hood episodes made him a known face among the masses, and I am sure people will miss his powerful performances.

He further stated that with the medical help and blessings of his fans, he would be walking the stage in no time.

Well, Sam, we hope so too, as we would miss you just as much. But don’t worry, because we will relish your performances in Robin Hood series, till the time you are back on your feet!

Looking from the outside, it might seem that making money in the entertainment industry is very simple. Wear trendy clothes, face the camera, and you have millions transferred to your bank account!

What people don’t get to see is the labor that the stars put in, the travelling they undertake, and the skills that they need to sharpen and sell to make things happen! So, I don’t think it’s wrong if someone makes a few adjustments to protect his hard earned money.

I don’t know about others but Keith Allen does hold the same view!

Keith, in a recent chit chat, reflected on the fact that he could not understand why hue and cry was being raised by the Art Uncut group if the popular band U2 decided to shift base to Netherlands to protect their money.
The Robin Hood actor stated that the move that U2 made is totally justified as they have worked hard to earn their money.

The veteran actor has seen cinema change over the course of his long career. Not only is he a brilliant actor, he is also a comedian, musician, author and television presenter par excellence.

He shared his personal experience and stated that he himself had suffered from the same fate, what U2 has been going through recently, in the form of national insurance. He further added that he wasted a lot of money during the legal proceedings, which was not a very pleasant experience.

Being an established actor, he also knows a lot about U2 as he insisted that the Irish band pays its lot to the government, and in addition to that, they do a lot more than many in the industry!

Well, Keith we also understand that the treatment U2 got was out of the way.

Speaking on a personal note, I don’t like music much but I do love all your work. And writing about you has started the Keith thirst in me!

I hope you all remember the character Will Scarlett, from the historical drama, Robin Hood.

Harry Lloyd, who played Will, recently made a comment about one of his characters in another historical drama, a comment that kind of compelled me to mull over it, rather seriously.

Talking first about the show that I used to follow religiously, tune in to Robin Hood episodes, and witness the antics of this accomplice of Robin Hood, who supports him in every challenge, displaying chivalry at every step.

To me, Will Scarlett signified audacity and a never-say-die attitude that was quintessential of him, till the end.

Now it does kind of peeve me, when the man who portrayed such a stellar character describes his gory act in some other show as the ‘best death ever’.

For if Visery’s (Harry Lloyd) death in the show Game of Thrones, is to be considered as something out of the world, my humble request would be – guys, please give me a break!

That seems to be bit over rated, if not really exaggerated!

That simply connotes that Harry would have to work really hard to brainwash the image which his character in ‘Robin Hood’ created in our minds, something that’s going to linger on for long!
